Johan S. Powell

Johan S. Powell received his Juris Doctorate Degree in 1988 from the George Washington National Law Center, which is located in Washington, D.C. He also received his Bachelor of Business Administration, specializing in Accounting from Hofstra University.

He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Black Entertainment and Sports Lawyers Association. He is also a member of the American Bar Association.

Mr. Powell is currently the Managing Partner at the Law Offices of Johan S. Powell, LLC a law firm located in New York City. He provides legal counsel and advice to various small businesses, corporate executives, and various entertainers in the music industry. He negotiates various contracts and agreements (i.e., employment, recording, publishing, licensing, endorsement, and producer agreements). In addition, his experience includes representing the School Board of the City of Mount Vernon (NY) in various negotiations and transactional matters. His work experience includes providing research and tax advice at the accounting firm of Touche Ross & Company. In addition, he spent three years working for the United States Securities and Exchange Commission.

He currently lives in Westchester County (NY) with his wife Kelly.
